LAKE COMO, NJ — The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey’s (PDFNJ) Your Song! Your Voice! Shout Down Drugs New Jersey Prevention Concert will be taking center stage as 95.9 FM WRAT’s Jersey Rock Podcast Video of the Week.

Listeners can tune into the concert at wrat.com/shows/jersey-rock to hear the performances from all of the 21 solo artists and groups comprised of 27 students who performed during the live concert that originally aired on April 26 on ShoutDownDrugs.com.

In its 19th year, the Your Song! Your Voice! Shout Down Drugs New Jersey competition, supported by 95.9 WRAT, focuses on music’s ability to positively influence people. It challenges New Jersey high school students to be peer leaders and take a stand against substance use and misuse by creating original music and lyrics with substance use prevention messages.

The winners of the 2023 Prevention Concert are Jordan “Jswizzy” Wilson, of Lawrence High School in Mercer County, who won first place for his original song, “Intervention Intentions.” Tina LaRosa, of Hanover Park High School in Morris County, earned second place for her original song, “Wasted.” Matthew DiTizio, of Egg Harbor Township High School in Atlantic County, took home third place for his song, “Revealed.” The contestant who received the largest number of online votes was Leela Kumar of Howell High School in Monmouth County.

“We are grateful for the continued support WRAT provides to the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey and to the talented New Jersey high school students who should be commended as peer leaders for their creativity, musical talent and resolve to use their talent to spread important prevention messages,” said Angelo Valente, Executive Director of PDFNJ.

Each of the winning musical acts will be featured on WRAT’s Jersey Rock show at 11:30 p.m. on May 2, 3 and 4. To listen, tune in to WRAT 95.9 FM or go to www.wrat.com. The Prevention Concert is also available anytime on  ShoutDownDrugs.com.
