Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey Wins First and Second Place Jersey Awards for Public Service Announcements

CEDAR GROVE, NJ The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) was honored at the 56th Annual Jersey Awards, winning first place for its Wisdom Tooth Campaign and second place for its Scorpion Campaign in the Television Public Service Announcements category. The Jersey Awards, organized by the New Jersey Ad Club, recognize excellence in advertising, marketing, media and public relations throughout the state.

The Wisdom Tooth Campaign highlights the potential risks of misuse by youth when they are prescribed opioid medications following this common dental procedure. The campaign aims to inform parents on how to keep their children safe. The Scorpion Campaign compares the dangers of opioid use to the fatal sting of a scorpion. Both PSA campaigns were created in partnership with Concepts TV Productions and are aimed at educating the public about the severe risks associated with opioid misuse.

“We are honored to receive these awards, which underscore the critical role of public education in the fight against the opioid epidemic,” said Angelo M. Valente, Executive Director of the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey. “Through these campaigns, we aim to inform individuals about the real dangers of opioid misuse, helping them make informed decisions about their health.”

In addition to this award, PDFNJ was also recognized for its other initiatives at the Jersey Awards, including the Knock Out Opioid Abuse Campaign, which won first place in Public Relations Feature Media Placement and first place in the Public Relations Not for Profit/Pro Bono Work category for its Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day Learning Series.
