Bergen County Volunteers and PDFNJ Continue to Spread Life-Saving Message at ‘Friday Night Lights Out to Knock Out Opioid Abuse’
10/27/2017
Volunteers in Bergen County, with the help of the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey and New Jersey Assemblyman Kevin Rooney, helped to spread the word about the dangers of prescription opioids and their link to heroin abuse at football games at Don Bosco Prep and Mahwah High School on Friday night. The outreach efforts, orchestrated by Marge D’Anna and Pam Coles and volunteers at both schools, were a continuation of Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day held October 6. Several high schools in Bergen County distributed materials during school hours and athletic events throughout the month to deliver life-saving information to students, parents and community members. Partners at the Mahwah event included the Mahwah Municipal Alliance, Mahwah Police Department and Walgreens Pharmacy on Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey.
