Call for Entries: 2010 Hudson County Shout Down Drugs Music Competition

Dear Hudson County High School Representative, 

The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) and the United Way of Hudson County is proud to once again invite all Hudson County High School Students to participate in the 10^th Annual “Hudson County Shout Down Drugs” music competition.  

"Hudson County Shout Down Drugs" is an initiative asking all Hudson County High School Students who enjoy music to create a song with original music and lyrics featuring a substance abuse drug prevention message.

In the enclosed promotional packet, you will find posters and flyers to display in your school or building, master entry forms that can be downloaded at www.drugfreenj.org for duplication, along with a CD featuring the 2010 Hudson County Shout Down Drugs winner Harold Daniel III from Henry Snyder High School, Jersey City with his winning song “Prevention’s Intention.”   

Please return all of your high school entries to PDFNJ with the participant’s recorded CD & completed entry forms to guarantee your high school’s participation in this year’s music competition no later than FRIDAY, JANUARY 14, 2011. All participants will perform their submitted song at a countywide concert held at the Newport Centre Mall (Spring 2011), where all participants will receive prizes and the winning song will be announced! 

With your support, Hudson County high school students can “Shout Down Drugs” to their peers and continue to deliver the positive messages supporting substance abuse prevention not only in your high school, but most importantly, in the Hudson County community.
