BERNARDSVILLE – In observance of national Recovery Month, Community in Crisis (CIC), in partnership with multiple houses of worship in the Somerset Hills, will offer residents a month of recovery-themed church and temple services to educate residents that substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy, rewarding life.
Participating houses of worship include: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Bishop Janes United Methodist Church, Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church, Congregation B’nai Israel, Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, Millington Baptist Church, Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, St. James Roman Catholic Church and Grace Chapel.
Throughout October, clergy will give sermons, send communications and offer prayers centered on the disease of addiction and recovery, conveying messages of support, hope and compassion.
