Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey Celebrates 25 Years of Fighting Against Substance Abuse at Angel of Hope Gala

MILLBURN --- The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey’s (PDFNJ) Angel of Hope Gala, celebrating the organization’s 25th anniversary as the state’s longest running public service campaign, was held May 5, 2016 at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange.

PDFNJ, since its inception in 1991 has been the leading statewide agency dedicated to preventing substance abuse by raising awareness and educating the residents of the New Jersey through multi-media public service campaigns, according to Angelo Valente, Executive Director of PDFNJ.

The event was chaired by Elaine and Steve Pozycki, both members of the PDFNJ Board of Trustees, which Elaine Pozycki co-chairs.

Senator Joseph Vitale, D-Middlesex, and Chair of the Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee, was the recipient of the Angel of Hope Award for his continued effort to stop opiate abuse.

 “Vitale can always be counted on to support common sense legislation that protects New Jersey residents and families, including the sponsorship of the historic 21 Bill package to address prescription drug and heroin abuse at epidemic levels in New Jersey,” Valente said.

“The gala would not be possible without the leadership of our gala chairs, Elaine and Steve Pozycki, and in particular, Elaine’s amazing style and incredible attention to detail. I thank them for all they have done and continuing doing,” Valente said.

 “Because of everyone’s support, everyone is truly a partner in creating a drug free New Jersey,” Valente said.
