Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day is Here!

Today is the 6th Annual Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day!  I urge all of you to be take part in #KnockOutOpioidAbuseDay today and raise awareness and understanding about the link between prescribed opioids and heroin and fentanyl overdoses and deaths in our state, to reduce stigma and encourage support of those in recovery.

There is still time to get involved.  Here are three easy things you can do:

1. Share this blog. Forward this blog to your family, friends and those in your community to help raise awareness of Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day today.

2. Share a message on social media. Tag @DrugFreeNJ and use the #KnockOutOpioidAbuseDay on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

3. Take the AMCC 5 Step Challenge. Find a disposal drop box near you by visiting americanmedicinechest.com.

Thank you for helping the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey in bringing awareness to this important cause.  I look forward to seeing all of your activity today.  Please forward me photos or screenshots of any #KOOAD messages that you share. I hope you continue to spread these important prevention messages not just on Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day, but all year long.

Be well.

All the best,
Angelo M. Valente, Executive Director of PDFNJ
