National Nurses Week

May 6 – 12 is National Nurses Week. Nurses throughout New Jersey have always represented our state with courage and selflessness, but never more so than over the past year serving on the front lines during the pandemic, heroically caring for their fellow residents.

To honor their heroism and to commemorate Nurses Week, the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) is offering its continuing education webinar, “Do No Harm: Exploring Strategies for Safer Prescribing of Opioids,” for free throughout the month of May. This webinar fulfills the New Jersey one-hour continuing education requirement for nurses concerning prescription opioids.

Nurses can visit knockoutopioidabuse.drugfreenj.org/njsaferx and use the discount code NURSES2021 at registration to take the webinar and earn their continuing education credit at no cost.

Additionally, I wanted to let you know about PDFNJ’s upcoming Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day Learning Series Webinar, “The ALTO Program: Treating Pain without Opioids” at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20. This webinar is presented by PDFNJ in conjunction with the Opioid Education Foundation of America, the Office of the New Jersey Coordinator of Addiction Responses and Enforcement Strategies (NJ CARES), and the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. Continued wishes to stay safe and well.
