International Overdose Awareness Day
Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. A day to honor the lives lost to overdose and reduce the stigma associated with substance use disorder. It is important to remember and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones without shame and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.
Additionally, this weekend we will celebrate Labor Day, a well-deserved tribute to focus on our well-being and a respite from the work week.

Raising Awareness About the Dangers of E-Cigarettes
E-cigarettes have been in the news lately as the Food and Drug Administration issued an order banning Juul from selling its e-cigarette products in the United States. This ban was quickly appealed and the FDA ruled to temporarily allow Juul to continue to selling vaping products while a review is completed.

Marijuana use among adolescents has increased in states in which adult recreational use of marijuana has become legal. A recent study looked at teens in California, Nevada, Massachusetts and Maine and found a connection between legalized adult use and a surge in marijuana use among teens.
