PDFNJ is inviting high school students across the state to use their creativity to make a difference. The 2026 Your Song! Your Voice! Shout Down Drugs New Jersey competition is now accepting entries, and teens are invited to write and perform original songs about the risks of substance use.
This year, there’s a special emphasis on raising awareness about impaired driving, thanks to a new partnership with the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. The goal is to encourage young people to use their voices to reach their peers with messages that can help prevent dangerous choices behind the wheel.
One talented student or group will win a $5,000 music contract and have the chance to perform their song throughout the year at schools, community events, and prevention programs. Finalists will be featured in a virtual concert hosted by WRAT 95.9’s Jimmy Steal, where the winner will be announced.
If you’re a parent, teacher, or youth mentor, this is the perfect time to encourage a student in your life to get involved.
Entries are open through February 1, 2026. Full details are available at shoutdowndrugs.com
The competition is a collaboration with the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, the New Jersey Broadcasters Association, and 95.9 WRAT.
