Join Us for the Knock Out Opioid Abuse Training Webinar

The seventh annual Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day is coming up on October 6! The statewide initiative is organized by the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey in cooperation with the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse; the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Addiction Services; and the Community Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Morris.

Designated by Governor Murphy as a permanent day of prevention, Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day mobilizes the prevention and treatment communities, community leaders and concerned citizens to raise awareness of the potential for dependency on prescribed pain medicine and the link to heroin and fentanyl use in our state.

Last year, thousands of New Jersey residents and business owners came together virtually through social and traditional media. Local governments issued proclamations, businesses shared information with customers, and religious, political and law enforcement leaders raised awareness of Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day and the dangers of prescription opioids.

I urge all of you to be part of the Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day movement and find out how you can get involved this year. On Thursday at 11 a.m., PDFNJ is hosting a Training Webinar to provide more information on Knock Out Day, so you can help educate your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and community, help reduce the stigma of those who struggle with substance use disorder, and encourage support for those in recovery.
