PDFNJ’s Webinars Are a Valuable Resource

The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey’s Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day Learning Series webinars have been a tremendous success, providing continued learning opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Offering this virtual format has enabled many more participants to gain much needed education and resources about the dangers of opioids. The series has become a valuable resource for New Jersey resident with thousands participating to date.

PDFNJ’s continued collaboration on the Learning Series with the New Jersey Coordinator of Addiction Responses and Enforcement Strategies (NJ CARES), which is responsible for overseeing addiction-fighting efforts across the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, has included a webinar every month this year. Topics have included the stigma of addiction, safe disposal of opioids and the impact on of addiction on families.

I wanted to let you know of two upcoming Learning Series webinars. The first of which, “The Opioid Epidemic and the Impact of Race” will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow, which will carry on the discussions held during the December 2021 presentation on the intersection of race and the opioid crisis.

We have also decided to add a second webinar at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, to cover the topic of fentanyl.  Sadly, this illicit deadly drug has been making its way into the mainstream across the nation and is a real danger that needs to be addressed. To register for either webinar, click here.

In addition to the Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day Learning Series, PDFNJ is also hosting a webinar for its workplace prevention program, Drugs Don't Work in NJ.  The webinar, “How o Address Marijuana in the Workplace: The Challenges of Measuring Impairment,” will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. The webinar will examine the legal and legislative developments regarding use of marijuana in New Jersey, including the issues of measuring impairment, supervisory testing and revising drug-free workplace policies and procedures.
